News: Richard Alston Dance Company to present lecture demonstration at Sadler’s Wells

Richard Alston Dance Company will be presenting a lecture demonstration at Sadler’s Wells on 1 March from 13:30-15:00, giving schools and students of dance the opportunity to learn more about the work of Richard Alston.

During the first half of the afternoon, Alston will explore some of his older works with demonstrations from company dancers. In the second half, the company will perform Alston’s exhilarating Roughcut (1990) and then open the floor to questions from the audience. The afternoon promises to give an insight into the creative techniques and practices employed by one of ‘the most musically revealing choreographers today’ (New York Times).
