News: Laban seeking Young Dance Ambassadors

Wednesday 23 November 2011 by Hannah Dye

Trinity Laban’s Education and Community Programme is looking for 12 young people with an interest in and passion for dance to participate in an exciting new Young Dance Ambassador scheme.

The Young Dance Ambassadors will attend a programme of training workshops focusing on project management, teaching and leading skills and producing dance events. Working with Laban’s Education and Community Team, participants will develop knowledge and practical skills before putting them into practice as part of Big Dance! 2012 and on their very own dance event or project.

If you think you have the enthusiasm, commitment and ideas to make the most of this unique opportunity then we want to hear from you!

All applicants will attend an initial meeting at Laban in January to meet the other participants and find out further details about the scheme. Participants will be expected to attend approximately 10 half day sessions (including Saturdays and evenings) between January and May before being mentored to deliver projects of their own design throughout the Summer term (May – July) 2012. There may also be other events and requirements outside of these session times.

This opportunitiy is suitable for young people aged 15-19 and please be aware that priority will be given to Lewisham residents. To apply complete the attached form and return it to Louisa Pestell by Friday 23 December 2011.
