Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, TooMortal - St Pancras Church
Shobana Jeyasingh Dance presents TooMortal, an atmospheric new work created for churches in London, Stockholm and Venice.
Inspired by their dramatic architecture, Jeyasingh’s striking choreography contrasts and complements the rhythms and spaces of these historic buildings. Exploring notions of the church as a sanctuary, the work offers an intimate, reflective respite to the busy hubbub of the streets outside. TooMortal explores both human vulnerability and tenacity within a sacred and contemplative setting. Offering surprising new perspectives, Jeyasingh’s choreography sees the dancers travelling over the pews on a powerful and mesmerising journey.
