Draw Me A Bird

An uplifting story about making music, finding a friend, and learning how to fly.

Draw Me a Bird is a dance-music-theatre piece for children and their grown-ups about a little bird in a big city. Inspired by the poetry of Jacques Prévert – one of the most loved children’s writers in France – Peut-être Theatre invites audiences to join them as they fly from the pavement to the skies.

Following its premiere at the Brighton Festival in April 2011, the show has charmed thousands of national and international audiences ever since. Combining astounding physicality, atmospheric music, and dazzling design, four dancers take you on the thrilling journey of one little bird who falls in love with the songs a Parisian street musician. When all the other birds fly away for the winter she stays behind and makes some completely unexpected friends – including a crazy crow and an old Russian pigeon!

Draw Me a Bird premiered at Brighton Festival before embarking on a nationwide Summer and Autumn tour.

The production is funded by Arts Council England & Brighton Festival; and supported by Unicorn Theatre, Polka Theatre, Arts Depot, South Hill Park, Brighton Dome, Central School of Speech and Drama.
