Mette Edvardsen – Norwegian/Belgian dance artist talks about her work Black and Time Has Fallen Asleep in the Afternoon Sunshine, presented in Dance Umbrella 2012.

Crossing Borders is a series of talks presented by Independent Dance and curated by Frank Bock, inviting UK and international practitioners whose work understands movement and embodiment through a variety of different forms. Art practice, neuroscience, somatics and curation underpin the many contexts where such explorations take place. The series offers fresh vantage points on artistic practice and environment, and feeds in to current debates on the UK dance ecology. This is the fifth Crossing Borders talk series, which was started in 2008 by ID Founder Director Gill Clarke (1954-2011).

“The series sets out to discover how thinking and exploration has led these invited speakers to extend across art forms” Frank Bock, curator of Crossing Borders

Crossing Borders will take place on Tuesdays, 7pm – 8:30pm from 2 October – 11 December 2012 (excluding 30 October). Full list of speakers
