An Anniversary Triple Bill

For this programme, Candoco will restage Trisha Brown’s signature work Set and Reset from 1983, which confirmed her as a pioneer of contemporary dance. Set to the original upeat, contagious Laurie Anderson score, Set and Reset/Reset with Trisha Brown Dance Company, will combine the original with Candoco dancers’ choreography.

French artist Rachid Ouramdane intertwines strong visuals and striking costumes with unforgettable soundscapes to create Looking Back – an atmospheric piece full of individuality. Drawing on the performers’ pasts, he reveals portraits of life to create poetic, often dark and ultimately compassionate dance work.

Finally, in a first for Candoco, Matthias Sperling, captures the uniqueness of one dancer in his lighthearted solo This is it. This intimate encounter allows the audience to reflect and focus on every movement detail and to indulge in the feeling it evokes. These works herald Candoco’s next 20 years by celebrating dance through time, presenting different ways of making dance and building on their rich experience as the company of disabled and non disabled dancers.
