Ear Opener

03/01/2017

London at The Place

Organised by Clod Ensemble

Cost: Free

Are you a performer or performance maker looking to broaden your musical knowledge?

This lecture is a mind-expanding trip, explaining how the big names in avant-garde music – Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Stockhausen, Reich, Ligeti – relate to each other, to ‘traditional’ classical music and to the worlds of experimental rock and electronic music. It also attempts to unpick half-understood concepts in modern classical music – such as serialism, minimalism and atonality.

Led by Clod Ensemble’s Co-Artistic Director and composer Paul Clark.

Monday 23rd January 2017, 7pm
The Place, 16 Flaxman Terrace, London WC1H 9AT

Ear Opener is free to attend, but spaces are limited.
