Situated within the same building as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room is the smallest of SBC’s concert halls.

Type of Performances
It is ideal for a range of events from debut classical recitals to more experimental pieces. The room is also suitable for smaller conference bookings such as seminars where group discussion is encouraged. The stage has an extension facility and a variety of backing drapes.

Fixed raked theatre seating for audience of 367

There is a small staircase to the Main Auditorium. The Room is wheelchair accessible. There is a goods lift direct to the stage area for equipment.

There are three car parks on the South Bank: Hungerford Bridge (open 24 hours), under the Hayward Gallery (8am -12 midnight daily), under the Royal National Theatre with direct lift access to theatres,(7am – 1am Mon-Sat).

Special evening & daytime rates: Evening parking for cars entering after 5pm Monday-Sunday and Bank Holidays: £5.90. To obtain special daytime rate, present your car park ticket and event ticket to be stamped at any South Bank Information Desk.

Designated motorbike bays inside the Hayward Gallery Car Park. Cycle racks on Belvedere Road.

There is setting down and picking up vailable on the riverside and east side of the RFH (take the slip road between RFH and the Hayward Gallery).
