Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD)

ADAD is a national organisation set up in 1994 to support the practice and appreciation of dance of the African Diaspora in Britain. ADAD wants dance of the African Diaspora to be visible and valued as part of the British cultural experience. ADAD exists to:

Enable artists through continuing professional development
Develop new pathways to a sustainable future through education and training
Build networks through hosting events and sharing information
Foster pride in dance of the African Diaspora (DAD) through celebrating heritage

ADAD is an organisation in strategic alliance with Dance UK, the national voice for dance, campaigning for the importance and need for dance. This alliance means both organisations share offices and resources resulting in a mutually beneficial relationship, helping to bring African People’s Dance into the centre of the mainstream British dance sector.
