The British Red Cross Dance for Life is one of the biggest celebrations of youth dance and is dedicated to bringing disabled and non disabled young performers from schools, colleges, dance schools and youth groups together in exciting and lively performances. Over 5000 young performers from across the UK will be coming together to celebrate dance and showcase their school’s performance. The event will help raise money for vulnerable people locally and overseas. For full details of this event check out the website below.

Anyone aged 4-18 can take part, regardless of their ability. Primary, secondary and special schools, colleges, youth groups and disabled groups are all welcome – it’s for anyone who likes to dance.

There are two age groups: a junior group for ages 4-11 and a senior group for ages 12-18.

All groups create a dance routine between three and eight minutes long based on the Red Cross’ work – that could be anything from first aid to child soldiers to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

When: Events take place between March and July. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where: Competition is open to all London Boroughs. Finalists go on to perfrom at the IndigO2 at the O2 in London.
