Yann Seabra is a set and costume designer based in London. His career in the theatre spans 13 years and different areas including working as rehearsal director at Phoenix Dance Theatre and choreographer’s assistant at Companhia Bailado Contemporaneo for Darshan Singh Bhuller. As a professional dancer Yann worked with choreographers such as Robert Cohan, Javier de Frutos, Fin Walker and Didy Veldman.

Yann continues to work in a wide range of artistic projects including teaching dance for Billy Elliott productions, running design workshops for the National Theatre, education work, model making for designer Peter Davidson and design commissions.

Graduating from Motley Theatre Design in London, his commissions include: costume design for ‘Pequenas Alegrias’ by choreographer Henrique Rodovalho, part of Phoenix Dance Theatre’s 2007 UK Tour; costume and set design for ‘The Poisoned Kiss’ (Vaughan Williams) New Sussex Opera directed by Michael Moxham (2008); costume design for the National Film & Television School short film ‘Limehouse’.

Yann believes strongly in the importance of a dynamic collaborative process with open communication between members of artistic projects.
