Transitions Dance Company
The postgraduate performance group based at Trinity Laban.

Company Policy
Transitions aims to bring together outstanding international and British choreographers and talented young dancers from around the world. Founded in 1982, the inspiration for the Company came from the late Bonnie Bird, one of the original members of the Martha Graham Dance Company and the first official teacher of Martha Graham’s technique. She remained the Artistic Director of the Company until her death in 1995.

In order to obtain a Masters in Dance Performance the members of Transitions Dance Company take daily classes at an advanced level in contemporary dance and classical ballet. They also take part in seminars, lectures and workshops in schools in the UK and overseas. The Company provides a programme of educational workshops as part of their tour and Laban’s Education and Community Programme.

Transitions Dance Company has toured extensively across the world, including venues in the UK, America, Budapest, China, Japan and Russia. An exciting and eclectic programme of new commissions and revivals make Transitions Dance Company ‘don’t miss’ (Time Out) dance.
