Graduating from London Contemporary Dance School in 1993, Jonzi D. has danced and choreographed widely in the UK and Europe, Israel, USA and South Africa. In 1995 he collaborated with MC Mello, toured with Gangstarr and was creative consultant on the LWT South Bank Show Special documenting the art and culture of hip-hop. “…he is an issues-driven performer but has the technique, the skill and the charisma to pull off thrilling entertainment pieces that give voice to the alienated. Prepare to be amazed.” The Metro
“Aeroplane Man ended the festival at The Place Theatre by asserting all the values you’d hope for – technique, thoughtfulness and abundant entertainment. …. You get the issues, but you get the skills too.” The Telegraph
“…the final duet, Us Must Trust Us, by the rapper/choreographer Jonzi D. is most obviously plugged into the black scene. But pleasingly it reverses the usual hip-hop machismo…. The two dancers look and sound like themselves while the piece itself is like nothing else on the mainstream stage – black or white.” The Guardian
