SLiDE was co-founded in 2013 by Gemma Coldicott and Anita Wadsworth and in December 2015 became a registered charity. Between them Anita and Gemma have over 25 years of dance experience including producing, choreographing, facilitating and mentoring. They have worked for organisations such as Stopgap Dance, the Royal Academy of Dance, Urdang and the Brit School.
Adults beginner level contemporary dance in South Croydon.
During the class you will be led through exercises for coordination, balance and fitness. The class will build with travelling exercises and sequences, exploring flow, weight and momentum.
Classes start on 10th Jan 2017 6.10-7.10pm £6 per person per class, drop in fee
Croham Road Baptist Church, 52 Croham Road, South Croydon, CR2 7BA. Parking is free on site, entrance to the car park is via Moreton Road. There is also free parking on Moreton Road. The hall is 2 minutes from South Croydon train station. The hall is accessible from East Croydon via train or buses, number 64 and 433.
The Brit School, 60 The Crescent, Selhurst, CR0 2HN. The nearest train station is Selhurst (10min walk) and buses from Croydon includes number 75. There is free parking on site.

SLiDE Patron: Crystal Yu
Since gaining her dance teaching qualification with The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance at the age of 19, Crystal has worked extensively in primary, secondary and SEN schools across London and in Hong Kong. She is passionate about creating equal opportunities and strongly believes that dance should be a creative platform accessible to people of all ages and all abilities.
Crystal is delighted to be part of the SLiDE family and is looking forward to help spread the word. Crystal is currently playing the role of Dr. Lily Chao in BBC One’s Casualty.
We have 12 Champions who represent the diverse communities we work with. Our Champions meet to provide advice and guidance on the direction of SLiDE and future projects. They also help us by talking to people about our work and volunteering at SLiDE events.
Board of trustees
Anna Chesters: Anna works at the Guardian working within Membership, running a national programme of arts and food events. She brings her experience of arts marketing and communications, and an enthusiastic amateur’s love of dance, to the SLiDE Board.
Joanne Lyons: In 2007, Joanne graduated from Laban with a Postgraduate Certificate in Dance in Community and then, in 2010, finished a Postgraduate Certificate in Physical Theatre with Jasmin Vardimon Company. Joanne is currently the General Manager at Candoco Dance Company.
Thomas Cresswell: Having qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in 2007, Thomas has worked within finance departments in marketing and communication companies. He has worked and lived in Japan and Australia for several years, and although not a skilled dancer – he does enjoy supporting and watching it, hence his involvement with SLiDE.
Swazi Rodgers: Swazi has 25 years experience of fundraising in the non-profit sector. This includes children’s charities, the prison service and overseas aid organisations. Swazi is enthusiastic about dance, but not especially skilled. In March 2015 she danced for 6 hours to raise funds for Comic Relief and won’t be repeating this feat any time soon.
