2Rock - Acrobatic Rock 'n' Roll Club
Acrobatic Rock ‘n’ Roll has become very popular in Europe since the 1980’s. It is different in style from authentic Rock ‘n’ Roll. The dance is characterised by very high kicks instead of steps or flicks and it is danced to modern rock or pop music in addition to the older rock ‘n’ roll music of the 1950’s. The dance style is faster and more dynamic with more demanding acrobatics and is more suited to shows and competitions than to social dancing. The unique dance aerials (airsteps), lifts and partner acrobatics can also be incorporated into other dance styles such as the swing dances (e.g. Lindy Hop and Boogie-Woogie), Salsa, Modern Jive (aka Ceroc), Tango or even ballet, cheerleading or figure ice-skating. It is certainly an exciting and energetic partner dance full of adrenaline, and thanks to the acrobatics, it truly is a 3D dance.
