Monday 5 November 2007

If you’d like a years worth of free tickets to see dance in London and to be involved in judging which have been the best performances of the year, now is the time to get your application form filled in…

The Society of London Theatre (SOLT) is looking for members of the public to take part in the judging panels for next year’s Laurence Olivier Awards.

The Laurence Olivier Awards judging panels are unique in that they are comprised of both professional and public panellists who come together to judge theatre’s most prestigious awards.

All you need is proven enthusiasm for the theatre, opera or of course dance – and the ability to consider the many different performances you see with perception and clarity.

Applicants must be over 18 and live within easy access of London. Each entrant must write a detailed 150 word review of a production they have seen recently and they must also list all the productions they have seen in the last 12 months. There are separate panels judging theatre, opera, dance and the SOLT’s affiliate members.

Anyone who wants to apply can pick up a leaflet from any West End theatre, apply online at olivierawards.co.uk, or request a form from SOLT, via: awards@solttma.co.uk or 020 7557 6777 or even send an SAE to: Awards Office (P), 32 Rose Street, London WC2E 9ET.

Closing dates for applications is 30 November, with interviews taking place in early December.

The Awards year runs from 1st January to 31st December.
