Monday 10 September 2007

The Final heat of Vauxhall Tribes 2007 took place this weekend at Hearn Street Car Park, London this weekend (8 Sep 07) in front of an audience of around 400. The competition, set up by Vauxhall Motors to find the best of the UK’s urban dance and music talent, has been running throughout this year with regional heats in Brighton, Bristol, Manchester and Nottingham.

Nationwide around 100 artists competed in four categories – Beatbox, Breakdance, MC’ing and Street Art.

In the Final, four acts battled it out in each category, with JP winning in Breakdance, Fozzy in Beatbox, Frilla in MC’ing and Agent in Street Art.

All winners will perform live on stage with Mercury Music Award Nominee Dizzee Rascal later this autumn, who was one of the judges.

Other judges included world famous beatboxer Shlomo, graffiti artist extraordinaire Daisuke Sakaguchi and choreographer Andy Instone.

This is the second year of the Vauxhall Tribes competition – and it will be taking place again next year..
