News: The Olivier Awards need you!

Tuesday 30 September 2008

The Society of London Theatre (SOLT) are looking for people with a passion for dance to join the judging panel for the Olivier Awards.

Each year ten members of the public join a team of professionals to decide which productions and individuals deserve the prestigious awards – made across all professional theatre in London. There are separate panels judging theatre, opera, dance and the SOLT’s affiliate members; two members of the audience panel are required to have an interest in and knowledge of dance.

This is a great chance to see the best of dance in London over a year – for free, but whatever their age or profession, applicants must have a proven passion for dance in all its variety. They will have to dedicate themselves to attending a vast array of productions and consider each of these performances with perception and clarity.

In order to enter, you must be over 18 and live within easy access of London.

You’ll need to submit a 150 word review of a production you’ve seen recently and list all the productions you’ve seen in the last 12 months. There are separate panels judging theatre, opera, dance and the SOLT’s affiliate members.

Apply online at www.olivierawards.co.uk, request a form from SOLT, via awards@solttma.co.uk, or 020 7557 6777, or send an SAE to: Awards Office (P), 32 Rose Street, London WC2E 9ET. Forms can also be found in SOLT theatres in the West End.
