News: Strictly Come Dancing Fever

The final of Strictly Come Dancing was watched by 10.6million viewers on Saturday night. East Enders star Jill Halfpenny won the competition, beating athlete Denise Woods into second and surprise finalist Julian Clary into third places. See the BBC website video clips of the competition

Over 8 million votes were cast during the six week run of the competition and dance schools thoughout the country are reporting a surge of interest as a result. It is estimated that the numbers of people taking dance classes has risen from 175,000 to 260,00.
