Darshan Singh Bhuller’s celebration of the work of L.S. Lowry, commissioned by The Lowry, Salford and Rambert Dance Company opens at the Lowry this week… He talks about the inspiration he found in Lowry’s life and paintings.

“This is the world I come from, the buildings I would see every day. Of course there’s a lot of gentrification now, but the terraces are still the same – and the way of life’s not that different from Lowry’s time. You can see it in the way people stand, like they do in his pictures – a slight leaning forward of the upper back.
