News: Sacred Monsters

The long awaited collaboration between Sylvie Guillem and Akram Khan, two of the most exciting dancers working today, opens at Sadler’s Wells next week. Together they explore the dance languages that predominate in their work – respectively ballet and kathak.

They talk to Sarah Crompton about the creation of Sacred Monsters:

It’s a journey,” says Guillem, “from something very square, very established, very classical, to trying like kids to open a few doors and poke our noses outside and see if there is something else.”
