News: New years Resolution!

Friday 27 July 2007

The Place is now open for applications to take part in Resolution! 2008.

For six weeks in January and February The Place presents nightly showings of triple bills, made up of work by up and coming choreographers. Presenting a lucky dip opportunity to audiences – you never quite know what you’re going to find – Resolution! is a not to be missed opportunity for emerging artists to get their work seen. Javier de Frutos, Wayne McGregor, Rafael Bonachela and Hofesh Shechter all presented work as part of Resolution! early in their careers.

Selection is based on a written application. To apply you must be a UK resident, (except Aerowaves, the strand of the programme open to European choreographers showing their work in London for the first time), your work must feature live dance and be 15 – 30 minutes long (40 minutes for Evolution), you can’t be in full time undergraduate education, (or present work made whilst you were) and the work must have simple technical requirements. You are required to pay a fee – but you don’t have to pay up front and it is set against box office takings for the night.

Priority is given to applications proposing contemporary work and for groups, rather than single dancers.

The closing date for applications is 24 September.
