News: National Ballet of China comes West

Madam Zhao Ruheng has been director of the National Ballet of China since 1994 – and a member of the company since it was formed in 1959. In advance of her company’s performances of Swan Lake and Raise the Red Lantern at the Opera House this week, she said: “The Chinese are the Italians of the East…They are dramatic, noisy, passionate.
