News: Making Conversation

Friday 13 November 2009

Building on her 2008 series of public conversations with eminent artists, which are now available to hear again on a new website feature launched this week, Siobhan Davies is hosting a second series of talks at her studios in Southwark.

In the first series the conversations involved Siobhan Davies and one other artist at a time, using the word ‘choreography’ as a trigger. In this second series, *Conversations on Making*, four of the original artists were asked by Siobhan to choose someone – again from outside their realm of work – to talk about what it is that fires up and sustains the making of their own work. The series starts on 13 November, with theatre director Katie Mitchell and composer Paul Clark and subsequent weeks will see writer Lavinia Greenlaw with artist Cornelia Parker; ceramicist Edmund de Waal and novelist AS Byatt and writer/performer Tim Crouch with dialogue artist Karl James. Each session will be introduced by Siobhan Davies and will include an open discussion with the audience at the end.

All of the conversations will be available to hear again in a new feature on the Siobhan Davies website –
