News: Honours for dance

Several dance artists featured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, announced on 14 June 2014.

Choreographer Michael Clark was awarded a CBE for his services to dance. One of the most significant figures in UK dance, Clark founded his own company in 1984, which has been resident at the Barbican since 2005. Choreographer Rosemary Butcher, internationally regarded as one of Europe’s most consistently radical and innovative choreographers, receives the MBE for services to contemporary dance and dancer and one time Director of the UK Foundation for Dance Namron Yarrum received the OBE for services to dance.
