Tuesday 29 June 2004

Slough is set to host a unique world record attempt – for the largest mass participation Bollywood dance – as part of the Dance in the Park festival this summer.

Bollywood choreographer Honey Kalaria, currently seen as a judge on Channel 4’s ‘Bollywood Star’, will lead the world record attempt on Sunday 11 July, 2004 at Upton Court Park, Slough.

Festival organisers are hoping more than 2,000 local people of all ages will take part in the mass Bollywood dance routine. The attempt takes place from 4.05pm during the free outdoor dance festival.

If you would like to take part, then join the free workshop and rehearsal for the general public – also led by Honey Kalaria – scheduled for Saturday 10 July, 2004 in Slough town centre. (Slough is only 20 mins from London Paddington)

Other Dance in the Park events include performances by the Alpana Sengupta Dance Company, Capoeira UK, Fusion, StopGAP, Honey Kalaria and Honey’s Dance Academy, 4×4, Badejo Arts and The Hip Hop Collective. Plus more than 100 local young people will join Kinetika carnival company to kick off the festival in a spectacular Din Shuru carnival procession.
