Farruquito started dancing at age two or three and made his stage debut at five with his family in the Broadway show Flamenco Puro. What’s going through his head when he dances? ‘It’s a feeling that’s very profound,’ he says. ‘Sometimes I’m thinking in colours, of birds and animals and kids playing. Sometimes I’m thinking of my family, of my past and the future. Sometimes I’m thinking of nothing — I’m just feeling.’

Farruquito returns to Sadler’s Wells as part of Flemenco Fesitval London, where he is joined by his brother Farruco, giving audiences a rare chance to see two of flamenco puro’s greatest proponents on stage together. 23 & 24 February 2016.
