News: East London based IMD Legion win first London Dance Championships

Ufest, a festival of culture for and by young people (aged 14-25) took over the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park in a mashup of music, dance, comedy and politics last weekend (27 – 29 November), attracting 3,500 visitors.

The event included the first London Dance Championships, produced in conjunction with Breakin’ Convention, the Barbican Centre, East London Dance and Sadler’s Wells. Ten young companies competed for the title and £2,000 prize money. East London based IMD Legion (pictured) won the first prize, with Entity, (whose members come from across the South East and London) in second place, winning £1000 and all female hip hop group, Myself UK Dance (founded by East Londoner Kloe Dean) bagging £500 in third place.
