News: Black Musicals hit West End this summer

Although Black artists are at the cutting edge of the music industry, they haven’t so far had a high profile in the West End. That looks set to change as promoters consider two successful new musicals, featuring black British scores. The Big Life, a reworking of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost had theatregoers dancing in their seats at the Theatre Royal Stratford East & Benji Reid & Felix Cross’s Slamdunk is ahip hop musical.
