Sadler's Wells Sampled, 2 - 4 Feb 07

*You can find all kinds of dance styles at Sadler’s Wells – but not usually all
at once over one weekend, or evening! But visit the dance house on the weekend
of 2 – 4 February and you’ll be spoilt for choice.*

_’The idea of Sadler’s Wells Sampled is to bring together a variety of different
dance styles and audiences in one event – so beware – hardcore balletomanes maybe
rubbing shoulders with hip hop fans or flamenco aficionados. Hopefully whatever
your tastes you will be tempted to see more of the artists and companies when
they appear on their own later in the season.’_ says Alistair Spalding, Artistic Director of Sadler’s Wells.

So each evening offers a different selection of dance – featuring internationally
renowned companies (American Ballet Theatre, English National Ballet) as well as up and coming new dance artists (Hofesh Shechter, Emmanuel Gat) – but the dance isn’t confined to the stage. In the foyers there will be the
chance to take part see dance films, download DIY choreography to do with your
friends, play with interactive installations.

There are also workshops and classes in a myriad of dance styles, but they’re

Sadler’s Wells Sampled is part of The PlayStation Season, a six month project where Sony PlayStation is collaborating with five UK cultural
institutions including The Baltic Centre, V&A, English National Opera and The British Film Institute.
