Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells
We’re all possible prey, he seems to be saying; all potential wolves: watch your step, face the music, and dance. And, if that isn’t necessarily the profoundest or most focused message, nor this Shechter’s tightest or most satisfying piece, he’s still the only …
Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells
Halfway through his latest work I realised I was wrong to think that he is continually seeking to locate order within chaos. I now see that he is doing the exact opposite. For a choreographer, it is a dangerous path to follow.
Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells
The catch is that Sun doesn’t really offer a way out of its tangled roadmap. There are loose ends of themes about colonialism, peer pressure, militarism and exploitation… but Shechter’s approach is so scattershot, it’s hard to tie anything together.
Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells

BLAM! - Peacock Theatre
I am not given to bursts of manic laughter during performances I attend.. but .. the fierce onslaughts of fantasy.. resourcefulness of the cast and inventiveness of the staging, are blissfully, jaw-crackingly funny.. It is a Danish National Treasure.
Rambert - Mixed bill - Sadler's Wells
Rambert’s dancers have breathtaking eloquence and authority, and there is one thing their dancing spells out: partnership depends upon mutual alertness.. like life, the dance is a mix of individual enterprise and common purpose.
Gobbledegook - In A Deep Dark Wood - Lilian Baylis Studio Theatre
Most children’s theatre productions are usually either heavily branded..or.. saccharine to the point of patronising.. it is refreshing then, to see a kid’s company that brings contemporary dance in its most organic form, to children.
Tim Spooner - internal choreography
Tim Spooner is an artist working in paintings, writing and live shows. An Artsadmin Associate Artist, he's taking part in Dance and the Homemade, part of Chisenhale's Big 30 celebrations.. Continue Reading
BLAM! - Peacock Theatre
Post-it notes and staplers will never seem the same again; and as for cardboard magazine files, well who knew that they could be killing machines! Billed as "Die Hard meets the Office"... Continue Reading
