  2. Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 4Mark Monahan, Telegraph, Thursday 31 October 2013Performance 30 October - 2 November 2013

We’re all possible prey, he seems to be saying; all potential wolves: watch your step, face the music, and dance. And, if that isn’t necessarily the profoundest or most focused message, nor this Shechter’s tightest or most satisfying piece, he’s still the only …

  3. Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells

Press Review Neil Norman, The Stage, Thursday 31 October 2013Performance 30 October - 2 November 2013

Halfway through his latest work I realised I was wrong to think that he is continually seeking to locate order within chaos. I now see that he is doing the exact opposite. For a choreographer, it is a dangerous path to follow.

  4. Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 3Keith Watson, Metro, Thursday 31 October 2013Performance 30 October - 2 November 2013

The catch is that Sun doesn’t really offer a way out of its tangled roadmap. There are loose ends of themes about colonialism, peer pressure, militarism and exploitation… but Shechter’s approach is so scattershot, it’s hard to tie anything together.

  5. Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 3Lyndsey Winship, Evening Standard, Thursday 31 October 2013Performance 30 October - 2 November 2013

Where Political Mother was like a teenager thrashing out his angst in his bedroom, Sun is that same kid a few years later, writing his university dissertation while experimenting with hallucinogens.

  6. Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 3Judith Mackrell, Guardian, Thursday 31 October 2013Performance 30 October - 2 November 2013

    It’s like ballet gone feral.

  7. Hofesh Shechter -Sun - Sadler's Wells

Press Review Judith Flanders, The Arts Desk, Thursday 31 October 2013Performance 30 October - 2 November 2013

I suspect the piece will evolve further. As it stands now, there are moments of extreme beauty, and of sheer horror. If the choreographer can give us more clues as to how they link, Sun will shine brightly.

  8. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui - milonga - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 3Siobhan Murphy, Metro, Thursday 31 October 2013Performance 6 - 10 November 2013

But working with five top tango couples from Argentina has been an ‘existential’ experience, he says. ‘I was so happy to finally find dancers who really understood my language.’

  9. Amina Khayyam

Interview: Amina Khayyam - on Yerma & 'the passion of kathak'

    Wednesday 30 October 2013

Federico Garcia Lorca’s 1930s play about a childless woman living in rural Spain is still strikingly relevant today for Amina Khayyam... Continue Reading

  10. BLAM! - Peacock Theatre

    Press Review 5Clement Crisp, Financial Times, Sunday 27 October 2013Performance 22 October - 16 November 2013

I am not given to bursts of manic laughter during performances I attend.. but .. the fierce onslaughts of fantasy.. resourcefulness of the cast and inventiveness of the staging, are blissfully, jaw-crackingly funny.. It is a Danish National Treasure.

  11. Rambert - Mixed bill - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 3Kate Kellaway, Observer, Sunday 27 October 2013Performance 22 - 26 October 2013

Rambert’s dancers have breathtaking eloquence and authority, and there is one thing their dancing spells out: partnership depends upon mutual alertness.. like life, the dance is a mix of individual enterprise and common purpose.

  12. Gobbledegook - In A Deep Dark Wood - Lilian Baylis Studio Theatre

Press Review Katie Colombus, Arts Desk, Saturday 26 October 2013Performance 26 - 28 October 2013

Most children’s theatre productions are usually either heavily branded..or.. saccharine to the point of patronising.. it is refreshing then, to see a kid’s company that brings contemporary dance in its most organic form, to children.

  14. BLAM!

    Review: BLAM! - Peacock Theatre

    Graham Watts, Friday 25 October 2013 — Performance: 22 October - 16 November 2013

Post-it notes and staplers will never seem the same again; and as for cardboard magazine files, well who knew that they could be killing machines! Billed as "Die Hard meets the Office"... Continue Reading

  15. BLAM! - Peacock Theatre

Press Review Keith Watson, Metro, Friday 25 October 2013Performance 22 October - 16 November 2013

Using anything that comes to hand, BLAM!’s great four-strong cast.. make everything from water coolers to anglepoise lamps spring to cinematic life as they re-enact classic action-movie moments.
