  1. Jasmin Vardimon Company - FREEDOM - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review Luke Jennings, Observer, Sunday 18 November 2012Performance 12 & 13 November 2012

But what gives Vincent’s work its power is that it is born not of hothoused theory but of lived experience. It comes from the heart and that’s not always a pretty place.

  2. Jasmin Vardimon Company - FREEDOM - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 1Jenny Gilbert, Sun.Independent, Sunday 18 November 2012Performance 12 & 13 November 2012

It is difficult to know what to make of Vardimon’s work. She wants us to engage with lofty topics – the “oppression” of personal freedom, in this case – but the format she chooses, a string of surreal vignettes, is ill-adapted to the expounding of…

    Germaine Cheng, Friday 16 November 2012 — Performance: 14 - 15 November 2012

Based on the two pieces she choreographed for her company in this mixed bill, Yolande Yorke-Edgell is apparently a very well-read choreographer. Letters in the mail have been made almost obsolete by today’… Continue Reading

  5. Royal Ballet - Viscera / Infra / Fool's Paradise - Royal Opera House

    Press Review 4Louise Levene, Seven Magazine, Telegraph, Friday 16 November 2012Performance 3 - 14 November 2012

It’s always a tonic to see Royal Ballet dancers in contemporary work, but the three plotless, mid-scale, leotard ballets chosen by new director Kevin O’Hare for his first mixed bill make for a peculiarly samey evening.

  6. Alias - Sideways Rain - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 4Judith Mackrell, Guardian, Friday 16 November 2012Performance 15 & 16 November 2012

It’s a timeline of evolution, choreographed as minimalist dance. If the concept sounds painfully schematic, Botelho and his collaborators have turned it into a spectacle of visual and emotional power.

  7. Wayne McGregor | Random Dance - FAR - Linbury Studio

    Press Review 3Laura Thompson, Telegraph, Friday 16 November 2012Performance 15 - 17 November 2012

These dancers are simply magnificent, and McGregor is utterly genuine in his desire to invest intellectual currency into the sometimes air-headed world of dance. The first ten minutes aside, however, FAR left me fundamentally unconvinced.

  8. Yorke Dance Project - Words Worth - Lilian Baylis Studio

    Press Review 2Judith Mackrell, Guardian, Thursday 15 November 2012Performance 14 - 15 November 2012

There are some decent performances, especially from Maurizio Montis. But the overall effect is bitty, made even more so by the episodic structure of Yorke-Edgell’s own choreography.

  9. Yorke Dance Project - Words Worth - Lilian Baylis Studio

    Press Review 2Zoe Anderson, Independent, Thursday 15 November 2012Performance 14 - 15 November 2012

Yorke-Edgell’s own choreography tends to be literary, with long quotations in voiceover; this programme has the overall title Words Worth. The dancing is clean and efficient, but the material lacks character.

    Jeffrey Gordon Baker, Thursday 15 November 2012 — Performance: 15 & 16 November 2012
