  1. Dance Umbrella - Davies & Hinton, Burrows & Fargion, Sudermann & Söderberg, Charnock

Press Review Sarah Crompton, Telegraph, Friday 19 October 2012Performance 13 October 2012

It was a stimulating evening and I found something to enjoy in every piece; but with the exception of the Charnock, none of the works had any content that most people would recognise as dance.

  2. Royal Ballet -Swan Lake -Royal Opera House

Press Review 4Louise Levene, Seven Magazine, Telegraph, Friday 19 October 2012Performance in rep until 24 November 2012

it would take some serious horse tranquillisers to put the character-playing to rights. In the opening scene only Elizabeth McGorian’s imperious Queen Mother and Thiago Soares’s dolefully dignified Siegfried show any sense of decorum

  3. Rui Horta's 'Danza Preparata' Dancer Silvia Bertoncelli with cat Mia (who was replaced by Sid for this performance)

Rui Horta - Danza Preparata - Southbank Centre

    Germaine Cheng, Wednesday 17 October 2012 — Performance: 16 October 2012

The cat's curious, searching gaze is perhaps the performance’s best representative of John Cage – an artist who constantly evolved, invented, defined and most of all, searched. Continue Reading

    Press Review 4Clement Crisp, Financial Times, Wednesday 17 October 2012Performance 16 - 20 October 2012

The dancers dance splendidly. Cunningham showers ideas over the stage, forms shapes of bodies, of energies, keeps everyone on the qui vive.

All This Can Happen - film by Siobhan Davies & David Hinton - Dance Umbrella

    Josephine Leask, Wednesday 17 October 2012 — Performance: 13 October 2012

What is astonishing about the film is both the quantity and diversity of the footage as well as the pace that it is played. Stuttering, glimmering threads of imagery spill onto the screen in hectic juxtapositions… Continue Reading

  8. Rambert Dance Company - Labyrinth of Love / Roses / Dutiful Ducks / Sounddance

    Press Review 4Judith Mackrell, Guardian, Wednesday 17 October 2012Performance 16 - 20 October 2012

I thought I knew Cunningham, but with Sounddance I feel as though I’m discovering his genius all over again.

  9. Rambert Dance Company - Labyrinth of Love / Roses / Dutiful Ducks / Sounddance

    Press Review 4Mark Monahan, Telegraph, Wednesday 17 October 2012Performance 16 - 20 October 2012

Perfectly channelling Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll – a billet doux like no other – it [Roses] seems to show relationships as they should be, yet still finds a surprise, even more idealistic gear (with a sixth couple) in the closing minutes.

  15. Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet - Mixed Bill - Sadler's Wells

    Press Review 2Clement Crisp, Financial Times, Monday 15 October 2012Performance 11 - 13 October 2012

Tuplet was winsome, involved chatter and dancers shown in silhouette and was, at least, reasonably innocuous in its jokey modishness.
